Upcoming Events

The Upcoming Events page provides a roundup of health and wellness-related happenings. The page provides information about events marking Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Awareness Day as well as Awareness months pertaining to the health and wellness of communities. In addition, the page features a calendar to which you can add your FASD-related event.

Awareness Months

FASD Prevention starts with healthy mothers, babies, and communities. SAMHSA, CDC, March of Dimes, and many other public health agencies have organized Awareness months throughout the year to draw attention to issues that impact the health and well being of these audiences.

FASD Awareness Day

Every year on September 9, communities throughout the United States and the world observe FASD Awareness Day. Events are held at 9:09, the 9th minute of the 9th hour of the 9th day of the 9th month of the year. This date and time is used to remind women not to drink during the nine months of pregnancy.

Monthly Event Calendar

This is a community calendar for events related to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, alcohol use during pregnancy, and women's issues related to alcohol use. We invite you to submit information about training sessions, conferences, seminars, workshops, media campaigns, special events such as awareness days, and other events. Your submission will be reviewed for appropriateness. If you include an e-mail address, we can notify you when your event has been posted. Generally, submissions should be made at least one month prior to the start of the event.
